My Bio

I am originally from Cheney, Washington.  I attended UW and graduated in 2000 (Go Dawgs!), earning a B.S. in Zoology with a minor Wildlife Science. I spent the following year working as a Biological Field Technician before returning to school. In 2002, I earned a B.A. in Education from Eastern Washington University.  I started teaching at Valley View in 2003.  Over the past several years I have also held a variety of exciting summer jobs:  Forest Fire Fighter (Summers 99-00), Alaska Tour Guide (Summers 01-06), and Park Ranger at Mt Rainier National Park (Summer 09).

In 2008, I took a half-year leave of absence to teach english and study spanish in Santiago, Chile.  I was fortunate to see some of the most beautiful places in South America, while traveling through Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina.  The experience was truly increadible, and one that I will never forget.

I married my wife, Debbie, in August of 2009. She teaches English at Foster High School in Tukwila.  We live in Shoreline with our beloved dog, named Luz. We do not have any real children yet... maybe someday.

My hobbies and interests include playing and watching sports, listening to music, traveling and eating good food.  I also have many outdoor hobbies, such as hiking, camping, fly-fishing, and surfing.

I currently teach 7th Grade Life Science and 8th Grade Earth Science.  I am also the 8th Grade Boys Basketball Head Coach.  We have a great staff here and I really appreciate being a part of the Valley View community.  I look forward to yet another great school year in 2010/2011!
